I've been trying to find the right words to describe these photos, and to some degree it feels hard to even post because there's no crazy light or wild movement. I guess what I hope to convey is the level of communication that was happening in all of these moments. A juxtaposition between a strangely calm parking lot and the complexities of jazz.
Sometimes it takes context, like knowing that @drumsbygups was playing one handed for a few minutes, or that a lean of a body was a signal of a coming change by whoever was leading in a given moment. At the end of the day, I'm not sure if any of these photos do that connection justice. Maybe you just have to come out next time and see for yourself.
